Artisans in the developing world lack access to the global economy. Novica works to employ artisans and preserve their culture around the world, while providing meaningful access to global markets. Many artisans live in rural communities and don't have the means to sell their work on the international market. Novica gives them a free platform to do this, and reach customers on a global scale while preserving indigenous culture and artistry. Since 1999, over $88M has been sent to indigenous artisans and all products are produced under fair trade standards.
Your purchase today ensures artisans in the developing world have a better tomorrow.
India's Rakesh Pathak presents this diminutive chess set, ready to be packed for your next adventure. The handcrafted game board houses a storage drawer for the playing pieces, lined with velvet. From the rooks to the bishops to the queens and kings, each piece is carved by hand from either acacia or haldu wood, and features a magnet on the bottom to secure it to the board.
