Through our partnership with Offley Green, your gift supports two projects working to restore ecosystems and strengthen communities: mangrove reforestation in Kenya and ocean plastic recovery worldwide.
In Mombasa, Kenya, your gift helps fund the restoration of mangrove forests that anchor one of the region's most biodiverse estuaries. This work creates fishing grounds, stabilizes coastlines against tropical storms, and shelters species like the African Bush Elephant and Comb Duck. For every 10,000 trees planted, local community members gain 20 days of paid work, building sustainable income in one of Kenya's least-developed coastal regions.
Your gift also supports Plastic Bank, which pays collectors in Haiti, Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cameroon, and Egypt to recover ocean-bound plastic before it reaches the water. Over 5,000 collectors now earn stable income through this work, which cuts carbon emissions, reduces reliance on virgin plastic, and advances 14 of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
