Homelessness is a societal problem which bears especially hard on women. Women now comprise 40% of the national homeless population, whereas a few years ago that number was closer to 25%. Founded in 1978, DWC has been a leader in serving the specific needs of women who are experiencing homelessness and currently provides 11,000 one-on-one sessions annually.
