  • 2021 Mes Filles Vineyard Sonoma - The aromas deliver fresh-cut strawberries balanced by dried herbs—rosemary and thyme—white pepper, damp forest floor, and faint smokey notes. Clone 667 is the core of the wine, imparting much of the fruit and length, while the Pommard clone provides added texture to round out the mid palate and lend earthiness and spice notes. The palate is a matrix of ripe strawberry, red cherry, white pepper, porcini mushroom, dried flowers, dried leather, and tobacco. The texture is soft and inviting on the palate, making this wine pleasurable and approachable today. Subtle oak undertones help to support the framework of this wine while not overtaking its delicate red fruit profile.

  • 2021 UV Vineyard Russian River Valley - It is both powerful and elegant, with a pure core of sweet fruit balanced with enough tension and lift to make this enjoyable now but also built to age. Aromas deliver ripe dark cherry, cola, candied orange peel, cinnamon and nutmeg. Flavors of dark cherry cola, blood orange, candied orange peel, cinnamon, and nutmeg intermingle on the palate. This is a textural wine with lush, ripe tannins, fruit, and oak intermingling exquisitely. This wine embraces its overt fruit and oak profile. It delivers a sweet core but finishes with great acidity and length.

  • 2021 Radian Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills - There is a vibrant intensity and juicy persistence that leaves the mouth salivating, highlighting the wine’s minerality as layers of nuance unfold with time in the glass. Still in its infancy, savory notes, crushed red and blue fruits, exuberant floral notes and alluring sweet oak undertones come together harmoniously with plenty of tension and complexity. Aromas deliver coastal herbs, pungent raspberry, pomegranate, licorice, and black tea. The flavor palate unveils pomegranate, black raspberry, rhubarb, pink and red rose petals, and tarragon. The texture is vivid, electric, and seductive. The wine glides across the palate seamlessly, integrating the acidity of the site with plenty of ripe juicy fruit, and depth. This was picked at full phenolic ripeness with very high natural acidity resulting in a wine with fantastic structure and a very long life ahead. It will continue to improve over the next 10-15 years. Of the three new Pinot Noirs we introduced with this vintage, this is the most exotic, although it may need a few years to begin to unveil all of the depth and complexity it holds deep at its core.
